The Carne Guisada is the signature dish here and is quite excellent. The cheese enchiladas were made with red corn tortillas, which makes them absolutely perfect. The flour tortillas were homemade, and very great as well. Hot sauce was good, but chips were cold and stale tasting but were free. Price was reasonable for what you get. Locally owned and operated, this family business really puts their heart into the food they make. This restaurant and Esmeralda’s are two of the best hidden jewel Mexican restaurants in San Antonio.
